Amanda + Evan engagement session

I am usually pretty busy photographing high school seniors but I also enjoy doing engagements and weddings. If you haven’t checked out my wedding website yet go for it! I had a blast photographing Amanda & Evan (and Kevin, their dog). Towards the end of the session the sun was getting ready to go down and the lighting was just beautiful. I am looking forward to photographing their wedding this summer at The Farmhouse Weddings venue. Congratulations and enjoy the pictures!!

Welcome back sundresses!

I loved getting to know Marlee, not only is she drop dead gorgeous she is out of this world smart! Karissa did a great job with hair + makeup, as always! Marlee chose to do a more dramatic look and my favorite part were here eyes!!! I am so happy I decided to include hair and makeup in all my senior sessions, it’s a huge part of having a successful portrait session. It’s also a fun time for seniors to hang out, listen to music, and get pampered a little bit.

This is a fun time of the year, we are just breaking free of the cold weather, and getting to shoot outside without shivering! I love that the fields are turning green and how the sun warms up the tones of my photos, I love the Spring!!! So welcome back sundresses!!!!!! Enjoy the previews from this session and please leave a comment!

All that glitters…

Last month I was busy recruiting my class of 2013 Spokes Models, I found some amazing girls to represent Ashley  Nacke Photography. I am going to try and do a little spot light on each of them!

Meet: Vanessa Corinne Gramling from Eastbrook High School

Activities: GCU soccer, art club,  freshman mentoring, plays the flute, youth group, art lessons at Taylor University, and she works in the catering department at Taylor!

Vanessa is a very beautiful and talented young woman and I am honored to be able to work with her. She has a fresh and carefree way about her. Her mom and sister were able to come with us and it was fun getting to know them better. In her pictures I tried to convey a colorful, beautiful, and spirited person! The sun was behind us creating a beautiful glow and I love the colors she chose to wear. Karissa our senior stylist did an amazing job doing hair and makeup.

In a few weeks Vanessa will be passing out cards and if you snatch one up you can receive a special discount on your 2013 Senior Portraits!

house pretty | extreme makeover

This is a picture of our house taken over a year ago- it’s now empty and we are working with a blank slate, I am going to try and blog about the progress because I love decorating! David just finished scraping all the popcorn texture off of the ceiling and we are getting ready to refinish those. The next step would be installing the new flooring which is pictured on the bottom right. It is from Lumber Liquidators and it’s called mudslide birch. Online it looks a lot lighter than the sample we have. It’s a deep brown and the planks are really wide. The chandelier we are going to purchase is from the ZGallierie, I went to see it the other day and it is amazing in person, and it is extremely large. The couch pictured is also from the ZGallerie but we are still undecided, it was our favorite so far and is really comfortable to sit on. All the paint colors I picked out from The Benjamin Moore West Elm collection, what is your favorite combination for the space.

Our monogram above the fireplace is gone so I thought about adding a few strips of removable wallpaper I found some that I like from Sherman Williams, Oh Happy Day has an awesome blog post about this wallpaper. As far as the actual fireplace goes we are going to leave the brick and just deck out the mantel with some reclaimed wood. Ohhh and did I mention that David wants to hang a deer above the fireplace, so we came up with a nice modern compromise! haha:)

Progress!!! Ceilings are patched, the ceiling fan is gone and ready for the new light! We have our floors in and the are ready to go in… as soon as I pick paint colors, so GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK!!!!

The girls were enjoying sitting outside in the beautiful sun today! Every time we pull up to the house Ava screams with excitement “that’s my house” it’s so cute!!! To the right is our bathroom haha– totally gutted, but trust me David and his dad have BIG plans for it!:):):)

That’s all for now! I hope you guys will enjoy this journey home with us!!!!

Brandie Russell Winter Senior Session

It is so fun to have hair and makeup now included in all the senior sessions. Karissa did an amazing job! You can check her out in action below, Brandie opted for some fun curls with a swooped bang and the end result was just beautiful! We are going to be moving in a month or two and I can not wait to set up my studio in the house and have a fun little area dedicated for getting ready! It makes me really excited to think about and you better believe I have already made a pin board dedicated to office decor!

Brandie is actually going to do another session when it get’s warmer outside so this was just a warm up for her! I loved her styling and especially her animal print shoes in the last set. She was very go with the flow and easy to pose, THANKS GIRL! We did a lot of laughing in this session, I love when that happens! I hope you guys enjoy the pictures!
